WHAT IS A COSMETIC TATTOO?

Also known as:

  • Semi-permanent makeup
  • Micro pigmentation
  • Microblading
  • Feather stroke (eyebrow procedure)
  • Feather touch (eyebrow procedure)
  • Feathering (eyebrow procedure)

Cosmetic tattoo is a where a semi-permanent pigment is implanted into the dermal layer of the skin, enhancing colours of the skin/face/eyelids/lips. Used for people that have lost eyebrows as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia totalis, chemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars, gaps, overplucking.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Most cosmetic tattoo's will last anywhere between 12 months to 3 years, this does vary depending on each person including age, skintype, exposure to UV light medications, and facial cosmetic's used. Aftercare is key to ensuring the tattoo heals properly and remains looking crisp/fresh.

PERFECTION / TOUCH-UP VISIT AND MAINTENANCE?

Perfection / touch-up visit - All prices include a perfection visit needed 4 - 6 weeks after the first initial procedure at no extra cost. This visit is needed to check colour/shape/strokes and to ensure correct and full pigment retention in within your skin so the finished look is just right for you.

Maintenance - It is recommended that you book a once a year maintenance visit to ensure the colour remains crisp/fresh. Clients who return within the 12 months for their maintenance visit will receive 50% off the full price of treatment.

DOES IT HURT?

This depends.... Everyone is different and has varying pain tolerances. Unlike a normal tattoo we are only implanting the pigment into the dermal layer of the skin,a pre-numb anaesthetic cream is applied prior to the service and a topical anaesthetic is applied during the treatment. There are other options available if you are worried about the pain and these can be discussed with your Dr, please contact me prior to booking if you are using another course of anaesthetic as it may impact the treatment time/colour of the pigment.

IS IT SAFE?

In Queensland we are bound by strict guidelines in relation to skin penetration. We must hold a skin penetration license and ensure that we are adhering to the infection control practices and sterilisation guidelines. All accessories used during the treatment are sterile/single-use/disposable.
